nXt Heat Hub: How it works

Simplify and Standardise installations

Traditional heat pump systems often require complex installations. Radiators need to be changed, a hot water cylinder needs to be added leading to high labour costs, internal disruption and long lead times

You care about lower bills not system efficiency

Typical heat pump systems need to be meticulously optimised, this is because on average gas is 4 times cheaper than electricity.

By moving to a variable rate tariff the nXt Heat Hub can charge its batteries in these cheaper windows. Often we don’t need to change your radiators as we run at slighter lower SCOP than an optimised system but we save you money

As the UK moves to renewables, there will be more tariffs that offer cheaper windows meaning your nXt heat hub will be cheaper to run over time.

Hot water on demand

No need for a water cylinder. The nXt heat hub contains a hot water solution that provides up to 350 litres of hot water. This ensures there is always hot water for when you need it.

80% of homes on gas don’t have a water cylinder and it is seen as one of the biggest blockers for heat pump adoption as it takes up valuable space within your home. We package everything you need so you can swap out that combi boiler with minimal disruption.

This image contains two sections with graphical data and text. The top section shows a bar chart comparing total household costs at different times of the day with annotations about customer advice and machine learning models for optimizing heating costs. The bottom section displays a bar chart comparing the running costs of a standard heat pump versus an nXt heat system, highlighting cost savings and scoring for each system.

We don’t only heat your home. We power your home

The nXt heat hub contains a bi-directional solar inverter to power your home using cheap electricity.

Electricity demand is highest in the winter when solar yields are at its lowest. By charging at cheap times you get the benefit of the hub all year round. Solar panels can connect directly to the hub but often you will find the payback to add the panels is not worth it as you need to displace cheap electricity.

System optimised where your data belongs to you

The nXt heat hub comes with our own thermostat. We use edge computing and machine learning to understand and optimise the heating and electrical loads based on your lifestyle. The thermostat ensures your decarbonised home has the lowest bills.

Most modern connected devices are IOT devices (Internet Of Things). They rely heavily on cloud infrastructure. This means if the company stops trading or cloud services are down your device can stop working. At nXt Heat, your data is kept and processed locally on the thermostat itself. This means the device does not need to rely on the cloud.

Take control of your bills

The cost of the system including install are comparable to a solar system and we estimate a typical payback period of 8 years.
